Announces Largest Grant in Its History December 14, 2000, 11 a.m. EST View BroadcastIndiana University held a news conference on Dec. 14 to announce that it is embarking on an unprecedented initiative that amplifies existing scientific research and technologies. Coming in the wake of recent developments with the federally funded Human Genome Project, this initiative will have far-reaching impact on science, technology, business development, and education. This endeavor will position IU as an international leader in biomedical research, data collection, and technology. The speakers at the news conference included IU President Myles Brand; Dr. D. Craig Brater, dean of the IU School of Medicine; Michael McRobbie, IU vice president for information technology and chief information officer; and Dr. Ora H. Pescovitz, executive dean of research affairs in the IU School of Medicine. |
