Freshman Induction Ceremony

New freshmen make "The Indiana Promise"
August 25, 2010

Indiana University's Bloomington campus has more than 7,000 students enrolled for the fall semester in its 2010-11 freshman class. Many of them took time out from a variety of Welcome Week activities to attend the annual Freshman Induction Ceremony, a celebration of academic aspiration and success.

Like all great universities, IU conducts ceremonies such as this with fanfare and pageantry including remarks by President Michael McRobbie, Provost Sharon Hanson, and Michael Coleman, president of the Indiana University Student Association. First year students were invited to repeat the Indiana Promise and receive a keepsake IU pin.
