State of the Campus Address
Indiana University Bloomington Provost and Executive Vice President Lauren Robel will deliver her inaugural State of the Campus address at 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 25 in Franklin Hall's Presidents Hall. Robel will discuss academic initiatives at IU Bloomington in the global context of higher education. A live stream of the event will be broadcast here and will also be available afterward as an archived video file.
The provost will discuss the IU Bloomington Campus Strategic Plan, a comprehensive document developed by 167 faculty members, staff and students and dedicated to envisioning a third century of academic excellence for Indiana University. Team members worked to develop aspects of the plan in areas such as graduate and undergraduate education, excellence in research and creative activity, faculty renewal, international initiatives and interdisciplinary initiatives.
The planning process began last year. During the current semester, Robel has met with campus and community constituencies to discuss details. A public comment period ended this week. The campus will now define a timeline for implementing objectives leading to IU's bicentennial in 2020.
