A great teacher is an expert on a subject but also able to share that knowledge with students in a way that shapes a student’s intellectual life. Indiana University is fortunate to have many outstanding teachers who demonstrate excellence in a wide range of pedagogical activities.
Faculty members and librarians have proven to be deeply committed to serving the university, their profession, and the public. Their work has created greater capacity at the university, impacted their respective fields significantly, and benefited communities at local, state, national, and international levels.
Since the presentation of the first teaching awards in 1954, these exemplary scholars have dedicated their careers to elevating the university and their students. Tonight’s event honors the teaching excellence and exemplary service of a wide range of IU educators.
