Join Carl Bernstein, the Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist who set the standard for modern investigative reporting by breaking the Watergate story 50 years ago, and Sara Sidner, CNN’s multiple award winning senior national correspondent, for a discussion about The State of American Journalism.
Best-selling author Bernstein will be on campus in his role as the 2024-25 Indiana University Poynter Chair and Visiting Roy W. Howard Journalist-in-Residence. Sidner, who co-anchors CNN News Central, serves on the board of the Michael I. Arnolt Center for Investigative Journalism, which is based in The Media School in Franklin Hall. She began her career with CNN in India where she headed coverage of South Asia, reporting live during the deadly terrorist attack in Mumbai. In the Middle East, Sidner was part of the team that won a Peabody for CNN’s coverage of the Arab Spring.
