IU's new Poynter Chair, Carol Giacomo, is an award-winning correspondent and member of the The New York Times editorial board. Giacomo traveled over a million miles to more than 100 countries with eight secretaries of state as a Reuters correspondent before joining the New York Times editorial board in August 2007. She has since reported from North Korea, Iran and Myanmar.
